King James IV bought beer from this brewery as early as 1488. Whiskey production began in 1886. It was not until 1947 that the brewery buildings were converted into today's Tullibardine Distillery. Since 2011, the distillery has been owned by the French wine and spirits group Picard Vins & Spiritueux, which owns, among other things, the 'Highland Queen'
